As you may have noticed, the vast majority of products we offer are certified organic. Where we do stock a non-organic product, it is usually because an organic alternative is not currently available or does not meet the quality standards we are looking for.
We believe organic farming is a better way of producing food for several reasons:
- Better for the environment – organic farming practices help support biodiversity, protect soil health and encourage more sustainable farming methods.
- Reduced use of synthetic pesticides and fertilisers – organic standards restrict the use of many synthetic inputs, helping to create a more natural approach to growing crops.
- Supports healthier soils – organic farming places a strong focus on maintaining fertile, living soils, which are the foundation of good-quality crops.
- Greater transparency and traceability – organic certification provides an additional layer of checks throughout the supply chain, giving us and our customers confidence in where products come from and how they are produced.
As a small business, we also value the reassurance that comes from working with certified organic suppliers. Organic certification means that farms, producers and supply chains are regularly inspected and audited against strict standards. This gives us confidence when sourcing ingredients from around the world and helps us maintain the quality and integrity that our customers expect.
Over the years, we have found that many of the organic producers we work with share our values: taking pride in their products, caring about the people involved in their supply chain, and building long-term relationships rather than focusing only on short-term results.
We are proud to be certified by the Organic Food Federation, an organisation that operates to the same strict UK and EU organic standards as other well-known certification bodies such as the Soil Association. Our certification requires annual inspections and audits, and products may also be selected for random pesticide residue testing.
For us, organic isn't just a logo on a packet — it represents a commitment to quality, transparency and doing things the right way.
