WHAT IT’S FOR
Maitake mushroom powder adds a strong “umami” (savoury) taste to your sauces, soups, stews and pasta. One to two teaspoons will do the trick. You can also try blending it with other mushroom powders to create a super-nutritious savoury stock.
Maitake mushroom powder can also be mixed with cold water and taken as a shot or mixed with hot water for a caffeine-free tea. Adding the powder to smoothies and juices can offset the sweetness and add lots of goodness.

WHERE IT’S FROM
We source our mushrooms from China where its taste and benefits have been enjoyed for thousands of years, so much so that they were worth their weight in silver in medieval times. Considered a delicacy and a nutritional powerhouse, China has many research centres dedicated to the development of mushrooms for both food and medicine, meaning mushroom powders sourced from China can be some of the best in the world.
We make sure our mushrooms are just the fruiting body, be ware of suppliers who bulk out their product with the myceliated grain (i.e. blending the substrate the mycelium grows on into the powder, reducing the amount of the desirable active ingredients).
