Why it's great quality

Containing a wealth of nutrients, wheatgrass is packed with chlorophyll, vitamin A, B, C, E and K, plus minerals, amino-acids and fatty acids, as well as live enzymes to help your body absorb it all. With a long history of use dating back to the Egyptians, wheatgrass is considered one of the most beneficial superfoods around.

Nothing added, nothing taken away. No additives or preservatives. No nasties.

Made from the young shoots of the wheat plant, it’s harvested when it has a lovely sweet flavour, and when the nutrient levels are at their peak. Our wheatgrass is dried at low temperatures and milled to a very fine powder, resulting in a chlorophyll-rich green coloured powder with all the health benefits preserved.

WHAT IT’S FOR

With its sweet flavour, wheatgrass powder is a great way to boost both the flavour and nutritional content of a homemade salad dressing, soup or muffin. Add it to your raw protein power balls for a little extra flavour and a lot of extra goodness.

Great in smoothies and shakes, we recommend that you mix 1 or 2 teaspoons of powder with a small amount of water to form a paste before adding to drinks, ensuring a smooth consistency every time.

Contraindications: None.

WHERE IT’S FROM

Our organic wheatgrass powder is made from wheat plants grown on fertile plains by European farmers – our current batch is from Hungary. Wheatgrass from Europe is generally of a better quality than its Asian counterpart. Firstly, because it’s air dried in a temperature controlled 45-degree oven, rather than freeze dried. Secondly, because Asian wheatgrass has pesticide issues from time to time, which can cause it to lose its organic certified status.

Environmental impact

As our organic wheatgrass powder is produced in the EU rather than Asia, it has not travelled as many miles to reach us. All EU produce has to adhere to very strict rules about production, so rest assured it has been sustainably sourced and everyone in the supply chain has the right to good working conditions and fair pay.

Allergen-Free Guarantee

None of our products contain any of the 14 major allergens that must be declared under UK and EU food labelling regulations. That's because we carefully choose to work with specialist producers who focus on making the products they know best, without handling these allergens in their facilities.

The same goes for us. Here in our UK packing facility, we don't handle any of the 14 major allergens either. By keeping allergens out of our supply chain and our packing environment, we can offer our products with confidence and give you extra peace of mind.

We're passionate about keeping things this way, and we have no plans to introduce products containing the major allergens into our range. If that ever changes, we'll update this page so you'll always have the latest information.

If you have any questions about allergens or a particular product, our friendly customer service team will always be happy to help.
