Winter Spiced Creamy Vegan Hot Chocolate

Winter Spiced Creamy Vegan Hot Chocolate

This article is from our guest blogger Luca Bogen, you can find more of her amazing recipes here

This is the creamiest most deliciously rich vegan hot chocolate recipe - I guarantee you will love it! With indulgent raw cacao and warming winter spices to give it a kick.

In the recipe I use hazelnut milk for its rich velvety texture, but you can use any milk you wish. If you are allergic to nuts, hemp milk is a creamy vegan alternative to milk and one of my favourites.

The ingredients list may look long for a hot chocolate but they're likely to be spices you’ll have in your cupboards over the Christmas period anyway, and this is a hot chocolate you definitely want to try!

Makes one super creamy hot chocolate

Ingredients

Hazelnut Milk (to fill the mug of your choice)

2 Tbsp Raw Cacao Powder

1 Tsp Cinnamon

1 Tsp Vanilla Bean Paste/Extract

¼ Tsp Nutmeg

¼ Tsp Ginger Powder

¼ Tsp Chilli Powder

1 Tbsp Maple Syrup

1 Tsp Coconut Oil

1 Tsp Cacao Nibs

Method

First fill your mug with hazelnut milk and pour into a saucepan; this lets you know exactly how much milk you will need.

Put all of the ingredients minus the cacao nibs into your mug and add a little hot water and stir very fast until everything has dissolved into a thick paste.

Heat your milk on a very low heat so that it doesn’t burn and once it is hot enough pour gradually into your mug whilst stirring in the paste.

Sprinkle a dash of chilli and cinnamon on top and finish with the cacao nibs.

Enjoy your hot chocolate whilst relaxing back on your sofa snuggled into a blanket with your favourite book :)

Love Always
